Here’s that Christmas card

Whoaaaa! It’s been a while! Geoff’s shop was ‘finished’ yesterday: the electricity went on and he was able to start those fab machines. Today he’s assembling his workbench and straightening up. He plans an ‘Audela’ webcast so you should be able to see what he’s up to soon! For now, check out the webpage with lots of pictures!
All else just moves along. Its in the seventies today and a night of stormy weather is moving towards the northeast and leaving us with great weekend prospects. So much to do! Right now my priority is on getting the garden cleaned up for spring, which in these parts is almost here. Tulips and daffidils are on their way, trees are starting to bud out. Since attacking more brush in the lower garden to make space for “Giverny west” is also a priority, wherever I happen to be is what gets done. Am trying to start in the front yard with existing garden beds, then keep on clearing out the lower garden. Spent the wee hours Wednesday night on Google looking up real Giverney to get an idea of the pond’s dimensions - bet you thought I was kidding when I said Giverny west. By this fall, I hope to have all the garden plots ID’d and the pond laid out, including walking paths and some of the planting. Will be using this blog to journal what happens - stay tuned!
If that isn’t enough, we are about to embark on a complete house redo, starting with the kitchen. Here’s a link to a webpage with pics of “this old house” . I haven’t had a stove since 2000. Do fine, but can’t wait for a real kitchen, which will have a “great room” feel with plenty of space. Once that’s done we hope to connect all the pieces of the dogtrot under one roof. Still trying to figure out how, but will probably go supermodern/glass and leave everything else board and batten to keep the old dogtrot look.
If I keep writing I won’t get much done. Don’t know how folks just blog, blog, blog all day. This morning found this ScribeFire software when I had to change over from Netscape to Foxfire, since AOL decided to abandon Netscape. So maybe more frequent blogging will start.
One last note. I (at Geoff’s urging) did a Christmas card watercolor of the dogtrot and sent it to several old friends I had not contacted for years (more on why’s another day, perhaps). As a result I’ve heard from a few old friends. Also, dear friend Jack tracked me down through Wendy, and I was totally thrilled to hear from him. So, while I might not be the greatest correspondent, I would love to hear from one and all.
